Klang Valley Derby Quarter Final Clash

Selangor FC will kick off the TM Malaysia Cup 2021 quarter-final match by hosting the Kuala Lumpur City FC team at the MBPJ stadium, Kelana Jaya today at 9.00 pm.

According to Selangor FC Head Coach, Karsten Neitzel wants a victory in the first derby match tonight and stated that the support of the fans is very much needed.

"In these two quarter-finals there will be wins and losses which means we have to focus on both games especially for tonight because it's a home game. Everyone knows it's a Derby match and how important this clash is," he said.

"I hope the players will not be afraid of any mistakes because they have to be brave to take the opportunities that are available. They also need the support from the fans who stand behind them," he said.

"I also expect an aggressive and committed performance because we definitely need a good result tonight to carry into the next game, and that is the goal."

As for the availability of players, Selangor FC could not bring along the prolific Red Giants striker, Ifedayo Olusegun who is in the process of getting match fitness.

Meanwhile, three other Red Giants key players, Halim Saari, team captain, Brendan Gan and R. Dinesh are also still undergoing long-term rehabilitation and expected to join the team by the end of this season.

Selangor supporters, however, can breathe a sigh of relief as Oliver Buff is now back with the team after recovering from an injury.

We hope Selangor FC can bring in a good result in the first quarter-final clash of the TM Malaysia Cup 2021. Come on Red Giants!
